3 Beauty Stocking Stuffers You Can Make Yourself

Stocking stuffers are, in my opinion, the hardest thing to shop for. You never want to overspend on silly trinkets that will be cast off quickly and you also don’t want to load the stocking up with chocolate. Or maybe you would…

A personalized homemade beauty product can be an inexpensive way to gift someone a moment of relaxation. Each of the three following beauty products can be made with three or four ingredients each and presented in a charming mason jar. If you have a group to gift, each of these can be made in large quantities.

Salt or sugar scrubs are easy to make and customize. During the winter months exfoliating dry and dead skin is a necessity. This scrub will leave the skin smooth and moisturized.  Combine 3 tablespoons of olive with ½ cup of sugar until well incorporated. Using regular sugar will provide a finer grit to the scrub, while a raw sugar will provide a more coarse scrub. Optionally, you can add an essential oil to give the scrub a fragrance. Dried flower petals or citrus peels can be incorporated as well.

A turmeric and honey facemask is a wonderful gift for a friend who struggles with rosacea, uneven skin tone, or acne. This facemask is a simple recipe of one-teaspoon turmeric, one-teaspoon honey, and one-teaspoon coconut oil (multiply this enough to fit your desired container). Combine all in the container. Gift with a clean popsicle stick to use for application. Be sure to include a warning that the turmeric can stain skin and clothes easily. Package in a mason jar.

The holidays can make anyone feel weary and a foot soak can be a great way to end the day. This orange spice foot soak is a warm smelling and relaxing concoction. To make, combine 1 cup of baking soda, 2/3 cup Epsom salt, the contents of 4 orange spice tea bags with 10 drops of orange (or 5 drops of clove) essential oil. Package in a mason jar.
